Crosswalks

Time is precious! Life is full of crosswalks. We can view crosswalks as a safe way to cross a busy street full of many tons of moving vehicles. I see entering crosswalks as deliberately placing ourselves into a situation that accentuates the fact that we have no real control over the circumstances around us. We drive our cars at crazy speeds, sometimes going the opposite direction of those traveling in the next lane. Our lives are one big crosswalk. Then I think about the simple fact that I have lived to be an old man, which is absolutely astounding! It is simply a miracle. Life is a miracle! This painting may have unconsciously been inspired by a recent travel incident when I came within inches of being obliterated by a very reckless truck driver!
