"The Mill" is a 108" x 60" installation that weaves together history, place, and material memory. Composed of six wood panels and anchored by a striking 48" windmill fan, the piece was commissioned by The Putting Mill at Faithville Park in Bulverde / Spring Branch, Texas—an outdoor haven nestled deep in the Hill Country, where sport, leisure, and landscape converge.
Drawing inspiration from the towering wooden windmill that stands as a beacon within the golf course, the installation echoes both the name and spirit of the venue. Embedded within the panels are elements of the land itself: limestone, pink granite, oak, and cedar—all gathered from the site during its transformation. These raw materials root the piece in its environment, becoming both artifact and art.
Beneath the work, a handcrafted table—designed and built by one of the business's owners—completes the installation, offering a gesture of craftsmanship and collaboration that reflects the heart of the Hill Country community.
